A Furry Request

For the past seven years, Molly Elliott has received plenty of emails and phone calls about our Crown and Anchor Society membership. Yet the wildest one dealt with a four-legged friend looking for love.

“I once received an email from a guest who wanted to have a wedding onboard for her cats!” she said. “It’s easily the funniest scenario I have ever come across.”

Unfortunately, the cats were unable to be wed on our ships, but these kinds of moments are why Molly enjoys her job. As an Oregon native, she has also enjoyed working in her home state and seeing her coworkers turn into her best friends.

She is grateful for the opportunity to travel to places she wouldn’t have gone otherwise. Although she travels plenty within Oregon, she has had the chance to go on an Alaskan cruise and visit Seattle for several ship tours.

However, her favorite part of the job is interacting with guests.

“I have always liked to help people,” she said. “It makes me happy knowing I can make someone’s job or day better by helping them with something they are struggling with.”

It is with this determination to be kind to others and offer help when needed that Molly has been able to go above and beyond in her career. She is a recent recipient of the Circle of Excellence award.

“When I first joined the company, I told myself I was going to earn that award one day and I made it happen,” she said. “I was in shock and so happy! It made all the hard work I have put into this company so worth it!”

Back when she was 20, Molly was ready to find a job where she could grow and develop her skills and now that she’s found it she’s not planning on leaving anytime soon.

When she’s not in the office, she enjoys spending her time with her own four-legged friends. She got her Yorkshire terrier, Charlie, as a present when she graduated high school. She also wanted a Persian cat and, one day, Auggie came home too. Luckily for her, her dog and cat are best friends.
